If you plan only 1-night stay, simply pick a decent resource along the two banks of Kwai river. You can then have a peaceful dinner with your family or travel partner. There are also cruising restaurant services, with music and karaoke. on this trip we stayed at a small resource named Had-sai-suay (http://www.hadsaisuayresort.com), meaning “beautiful beach” in Thai. They have only a few houses, so booking in advance is a good idea. you can do so via agoda.
During daytime, a family with kids may consider Safari Park (http://www.safaripark-kan.com/), located at Bor Ploy . You can drive among the wildlife, and feed them without getting out of the car. By that I mean harmless species such as giraffes and deers, of course. Dangerous ones like lions, tigers, and bears, seemed too lazy to threaten us anyway. Don’t worry if you don’t have a car, because the zoo provides scheduled tour bus into all areas. (Even you have a car, it may be more enjoyable to join other visitors on a zoo bus. Besides, the bus driver knows where to look for some dormant animals.)
